The Block is a place to talk sports. We keep as little as we need to run your desk, and we do not sell it.

What we collect

If you create a profile: a username, email, password, and an optional name. You can add a backup email or phone so you can get back in. You can add a photo and a banner from your device. You pick teams, a look for the desk, and whether you want game alerts.

If you write on The Block, that post is stored with your desk so other people can read it. Guests can look around without an account. We do not ask guests for a name or email.

How we use it

To sign you in, show your desk, remember your teams and theme, send game alerts you turned on, send a password reset if you ask for one, and keep The Block working. Public records — schedules, standings, final scores — come from public sports sources. That is not your personal data.

Who else sees it

Your username, name, photo, banner, and posts are public on The Block. Email, phone, and password are not. We do not sell your information. We do not run ads. We do not track you across other companies’ apps. Hosting and sign-in infrastructure may store account data so the site stays up. Anyone who handles it has to protect it the same way we do.

How long we keep it

While your desk is open. Posts drop off the main board after three days; a copy may stay on your own replies until you delete it or close the desk. If you want the desk gone, email theboss@talkontheblock.com from the address on the account and we will delete it. You can also remove a post you wrote.

Kids

The Block is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
